Peak foliage season hits Camberville and beyond. The trees flipped from a classic summer green to those rusty burnt red, yellow and maroon colors that fill up fall (disclaimer: I am technically color blind, so you'll have to go outside and see for yourself).

Color inaccuracies or not, the weather won't give up on summer, pushing hoodie season further into October as sunny and sixties move us past the gray of last week.

Celebrate with The Burren's monthly two-step lesson + dance social, Binge Thinking conversations, astronomy lectures at the taproom or even a dance party at lunch if you're working out of East Cambridge.

Enjoy the great weather this week.

September 21 through 27 ran 131 incidents and 20 arrests, down from 148, with calls tapering off almost daily after a 27-call peak on September 22.

NOTABLE: An independent judicial inquest found the Cambridge officers in the August 21 Temple Street shooting acted reasonably and were justified. The findings came out October 2, when the Middlesex DA also released the officers' body camera footage. The DA's office says the man, 64, pointed a gun at officers before they fired. Cambridge Police warn the footage is graphic.

The rougher log entries came early: a 3AM armed robbery at a Mass. Ave. business on September 22, and that same day a Somerville Ave. shoplifter who kicked, spat and threw things at staff and officers. Early on September 26 someone was kicked in the head at Mass. Ave. and Porter Rd. and hospitalized. Three cars were stolen in two days, from Lambert St., Wellington Ln. and Brattle St., and fraud ran from a fake $754 invoice to a $5,000 unauthorized withdrawal. Stranger entries: someone dumped a bucket of urine from a Mass. Ave. window onto a person below, a package of employee paychecks vanished from a business, and one man was picked up on eight warrants from four courts.

Somerville logged six arrests over the same week, its most since we started tracking, with September 23 the only day that saw two.

NOTABLE: Officers answered a 2:30AM call on September 26 about arguing and things being thrown in an apartment. The resident refused them entry, and once officers went in to check on the people inside, she threw objects at three of them, hitting all three, then wrapped her legs around a pole as they carried her out. Charges: three counts of assault and battery on a police officer, plus resisting arrest.

The rest: a September 21 arrest for shoplifting, larceny and assault; two on September 23, for a third shoplifting offense and for two counts of possessing child sexual abuse material; larceny over $1,200 and drug possession on top of a Boston warrant September 24; and shoplifting September 25.

State law keeps juveniles, domestic violence and sexual assault out of both cities' public logs, so neither set of numbers is a full count.
