The sunny-and-sixties streak is holding for the rest of the week, but sundown keeps sneaking in earlier with daylight saving time ending this weekend.

Closer to home, it's a week of hellos and goodbyes. The Somerville Theatre's own longtime staff just bought the Davis Square building, securing the future of one of New England's oldest movie houses.
Over at Bow Market, Saus is serving its final fries, closing in December after 15 years of Belgian frites and too many sauces to count.

October 9 through 11 brought 55 incidents and 6 arrests across the three days CPD has posted, a little under the prior stretch's pace of 20 a day, with October 9 the busiest at 24.
NOTABLE: Police made an arrest in the October 6 shooting near Russell Field in North Cambridge, serving a search warrant October 20. Charges include armed assault to murder and carrying a firearm without a license.
Hit-and-runs led the logs with 10 in three days, five on October 11 alone, mostly parked cars struck on streets from Rindge Ave. to Hampshire St. Shoplifting made up another 10 entries, mostly at Mass. Ave. and Alewife Brook Pkwy. stores, and one person was arrested at Alewife October 11 on a second-offense shoplifting charge plus two warrants. Three people were arrested October 9 after officers saw a suspected street-level drug deal near Porter Square. Five bikes and e-bikes were stolen, the priciest a $2,423 e-bike on Wheeler St. Stranger entries: a pet cat was reported stolen on Mass. Ave. and the bomb squad cleared unattended packages on Main St. and Eliot St. A Concord Tpke. resident also found boxes in their garage opened with nothing missing.

Somerville logged eight arrests over October 12-18, up from two the week before, with October 13 and October 17 tied for the most at three each.
On October 13, one arrest followed an assault on a loss-prevention worker at the Target on Somerville Ave., and a neighbor's call about someone working at a porch window screen on Orchard St. led to another. October 15 brought a trespass arrest at 350 Mart, and October 16 an arrest for a daytime break-in on Gilman Terrace. On October 17, a landlord over 60 was struck with a door on Central St., and two shoplifting arrests followed, one at Target and one at Market Basket tied to an October 4 theft.
State law keeps juveniles, domestic violence and sexual assault out of both cities' public logs, so neither set of numbers is a full count.
